Wireless Base Station AMC with Virtex-6 FPGA
The Interphase AMC module iSPAN 36702 uses the Wintegra
WinPath3 network processor which consists of up to12 protocol processing
engine, two 34K MIPS 32bit 622/700 MHz RISC Cores and Traffic Manager.
AMC.1 type 1, AMC.2 type E2, AMC.2 type 4 GbE or AMC.2 type 5 XAUI10
GbE, and AMC.4 type 10 Serial RapidIO are supported. One Micro-B USB port, one SMB
Micro coaxial port, and 3 SFP connectors configurable as CPRI / OBSAI are on the front panel available.
The iSPAN36702 provides all functions of a Wireless Base Station for LTE
networks in AMC form factor. (not radio part). The extreme small form
factor allows developer of 4G networks an easy integration in LTE eNodeB
or the newest generation of WiMAX Base Stations. Therefore the iSPAN
36702 provides an access for the development of new wireless micro, pico,
and enterprise femto cell Basis Stations. Interphase can adapt or extend
this solution to meet your needs in AMC or any other form factor
required.
The network processor supports the complete LTE or WiMAX layer 1 and 2.
The combination of WinPath3 and Virtex-6 FPGA offers scalable RLC/MAC
software from Wintegra 1.25 to 25 MHz per sector, 1 to 3 sectors per
device, and layer 2 PDCP/RoHC implementation. In addition the module
provides support for AES, 3DES, HMAC-SHA1, HMAC-MD3 or SNOW-3G for the
Backhaul and the air interface. The flexible Xilinix software with LTE
Downlink and Uplink allows low latency, low power, and high compute
bandwidth processing. For L1/L2 solutions an API interface exists for
MAC/PHY.
Fully programmable software source code licenses are available. The
Wintegra Control Processor solution includes a scalable RLC/MAC software
is fully programmable in subset of C and uses multi-core including dual
MIPS cores. The Xilinix solution is fully programmable and provides
Downlink and Uplink LTE PHY processing. Additional elements of the eNodeB or WiMAX full base
stations reference design software like S1/X2 network interfaces with IPsec, GTP
tunneling and eNodeB / WiMAX application software is available.
The iSPAN 36702 is made for the LTE/WiMAX, Pico/Microcells, and
Enterprise Femtocells.
