Scaleable DSP Solution for ATCA and MicroTCA
Platforms
The SurfRider/AMC is an AMC card designed to provide video
processing, VoIP, cryptography, and medical imaging. Up to eight DSPs
can be plugged on the board. Two DSPs are on board for the C6412, there
is 64MB SDRAM for every DSP and for the C6455 there is 128MB DDR2 for
every DSP. Up to four SurfDocker modules can modular extend the board
with more DSPs. SurfDocker modules are modular plug-in's that are
designed to carry pairs of DSPs including the latest and future members
of TIs' TMS320 C64x series. This paradigm allows population of different
types of DSPs on each AMC carrier without modifying the application. The
DSP interfaces are configurable over API to each DSP based on DSP type,
including Rapid I/O, Infiniband, GbE and I-TDM.
A PowerPC 405 CPU
is implemented within the Interface FPGA for board management. The FPGA
handles the interface between the main board and the specific DSP.
The SurfRider/AMC is provided with SurfUP, Surf's telecom-ready media
processing software that allows proprietary applications to be embedded
directly into the DSP framework. The board handles voice, video, mobile
video, fax and modem over IP capabilities. The traffic for these
capabilities will transported over the standards-based PICMG SFP I-TDM
protocol over Gigabit Ethernet.
The SurfRider/AMC is also available as SurfRider/AMC-EVM stand-alone
development system with internal power supply. The DSP's are controlled
and monitored over GbE.
Support for
Linux, VxWorks and Windows is available.
