Access based on the Field-Proven Most Advanced I/O Architecture
in the Industry
The iSPAN 4539 PMC T1/E1/J1 communications controller from
Interphase provides a powerful best-in-class communications I/O solution
for 1.544 Mbps / 2.048 Mbps connectivity. This feature-rich solution
features one of the most advanced communications processors available,
offloading the host processor. As part of the MPC8264-based product
family from Interphase, development efforts on the 4539 can be leveraged
on sister products for future development projects that may require
different interfaces, form factors, feature-sets, or O/S environments.
The iSPAN 4539 provides on a single PMC module four E1/T1/J1 interfaces
with rear I/O, one Fast Ethernet port on front panel, a 300 MHz MPC8264
PowerQUICC II™ CPU with 64 MB DRAM und 4 MB Flash as well as a TDM bus
interface. The four line interfaces are build with an Infineon® QuadFALC™ Framer chip. The line interfaces can be configured via
software as E1, T1, or J1. The E1 ports are available via P14. The P13
and P14 connectors layout accords to the PTMC (PICMG® 2.15)
configuration 1 specification.
The module can handle ATM Inverse multiplexing (IMA)
and allows the trunking of up to four ports.
An extended board development kit is included in
delivery. An optional board support package for Wind Rivers VxWorks 5.4
provides on-board ATM AAL0, AAL2, and AAL5 protocol support.
