VCC 1209 VMEbus CPU Board with NXP i.MX8M Plus Processors, SMARC® 2.1 and PMC/XMC Slot

VMEbus CPU board with support for SMARC® 2.1 modules and ARM® Cortex®-A53 processors. The VCC 1209 SMARC board from IOxOS Technologies is available with a quad-core 1.80 GHz NXP i.MX8M Plus processor, up to 8 GB of LPDDR4 SDRAM, up to 128 GB of eMMC flash, and an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with 2.3 TOPS. In addition, the VCC 1209 SMARC board features a Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) to support secure system architectures. By using standardized SMARC® 2.1 modules, existing VME systems can be migrated to the latest processor technologies, and future processor upgrades can be implemented without replacing the VMEbus CPU board.

The VME64x interface is implemented using the ALTHEA 7910 solution. The FPGA-based PCI Express-to-VME64x bridge is implemented in a Xilinx Artix®-7 FPGA and supports all VME64x master/slave modes, including D08, D16, D32, BLT32, MBLT64, 2eVME, 2eSST, and 2eSST Broadcast, as well as high-speed DMA. In addition, the ALTHEA 7910 offers integrated shared memory (SMEM), message passing FIFO, and semaphores for efficient communication between PCI Express and VMEbus. The FPGA implementation ensures high long-term availability, because no discontinued third-party VME bridge modules are used.

The VCC 1209 SMARC board has a PMC/XMC slot and two M.2 SATA III slots. A Gigabit Ethernet port, a DisplayPort, two USB 3.0 ports, and an RS-232 port are in the front panel. The optional VME-P0 connector provides two additional Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, one USB 2.0 interface, and one SATA III interface.

The VCC 1209 SMARC board is available in 0°C .. 50°C and -40°C .. +85°C operating temperature ranges. Board Support Packages and driver are available for Linux, and Microsoft® Windows 10/11.
